Myth #1:
It is widely believed that one needs to buy a domain name only if they own or need a website
Domain names can be used for a variety of other purposes. A domain name can be bought even without having a website. It is used to create professional email addresses like ‘sales@yourdomainame.extension’. Secondly, it is not necessary to link the domain name to your own website. It can be linked to your facebook page, twitter account or any other landing pages.
Myth #2:
Domain names with keywords are ranked higher
Keywords in the domain name have little importance for SEO ranking. However, keywords in the domain name can increase the click-through rates, brand potential and recognition in the search engine page results.
Myth #3:
A separate domain is required for each target market
There is no need to create separate TDLs for each target market. The landing pages under a single website can be used for geo-targeting. It only depends on the country codes on the landing page, the language of content and the back-links.
